Blizzcon Opening Ceremony Extravaganza

Guys. Guys.  Blizzcon, guys.

I bought my virtual ticket the day they went on sale.  I've been looking forward to this for... a while.  And thankfully I have the whoooole weekend off.  I'm not going to go over everything they say at Blizzcon here because there's a million news sites doing that, but I'm going to commentate on the things that stand out to me.

1. Brightpaw

This little guy is being released December 2, with all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish.  People will of course be bummed it is yet another store mount, but at least the money is going to a good cause.  We can all agree that's good right?

2. THE TRAILER

The trailer looks soooo awesome.  I never played the original Warcraft games so a lot of the original story is lost on me, so seeing this will be my first time seeing the story.  I'd be interested in reading when the movie comes out, how the movie stacks up the the game and if they made any changes.

3. New Heroes characters

Three news heroes were announced for Heroes of the Storm, Genn Greymane, Cho'gall, and Lunara.  I have not played Heroes but they look really cool and maybe I'll pick it up sometime and try it out.  I love Lunara's voice, her mockish giggling would really piss me off if it was directed at me.  Truly the end where Cho'gall was running, giggling carrying the pony farting rainbows was absolutely hilarious.  TWO players controlling ONE hero.  That won't be causing any problems...

Is he a man...

 ...or a beast?

I am the first of the dryads.

Prepare for trouble, and make it double!  Team Rocket GO!

4. A couple new Overwatch characters

Genji, Mei, and D.Va have been announced. Mei looks soooo adorable.  It makes me want to go play Never Alone right now.  She's a little Eskimo-looking girl with ice abilities.  D.Va looks like a badass in some sort of pink mech.  I want her pink mech.  Could I get like a pink car that transforms into a pink mech, Transformers-style?  Genji looks like a guy in a robot suit with a cool glowy sword, and apparently is Hanzo's brother.  Ooooh, family drama?  Sadly, I am not in the beta...

I play to win.

Let's fight for a better world.

Can anyone translate Japanese?

Not sure if anyone spotted this WoW reference.  It says 'Goldshire Pictures'.  Does that mean it's a porn studio?

5. Overwatch skins

There will be 5 character skins in the Origins edition of Overwatch.  Only those 5 characters will get those 5 skins, as far as I know.

The Origins edition will be on console and PC.  I don't think there will be any other skins.  Except this one...
You get the Noire Widowmaker skin with the pre-purchase of Overwatch.  It is expected to be available on or before December 21, 2016.

6. Tracer

Tracer will be a playable Hero!

Don't worry, loves.  Calvary's here.

7. Legion Opening Cinematic

OH MY GOD.  Firstly, Varian Wrynn looks soooo good here.  In past cinematics he's kinda looked like his face was made out of pudding, but here he looks so much more detailed.  And Sylvanas.  Holy shit Sylvanas.  Will you be my bae?  I don't know if she's ever been in a cinematic.  I love that she and Varian were the main duo for this cinematic, such an unlikely pairing that actually works (bring on the hentai fanfiction),  She looks so amazing in this cinematic, and the purple bolts of energy she was shooting out of her bow.  I'm glad she was helping Varian instead of watching him fend for himself.  I'm hoping she gets a lot of screen time this expansion.  Tentative release date of Summer 2016.  Summer the 10th.  Or something.  You can pre-order Legion now.  It includes a level 100 character boost and early access to the demon hunter class (when it's ready).  With the collector's edition, you get the mount and pet which I've talked about before.

That aboooout wraps it up for the opening ceremony.  They dropped so much cool stuff of us.  Check back for panel overviews and such.

Picture Count: 20/50

Only counting screenshots I took, not the trailers.
